The Government will be making an announcement later this afternoon in regards to rural internet access but the Journal Pioneer is reporting that Aliant will be spending 8.2 million dollars to expand internet access across the Island. This does not involve any taxpayer money and it will mean a large number of Islanders will have access to high speed internet. Not sure what the Government plans on announcing later today though.
