This is causing quiet a stir on the CBC "post a comment", that I thought I'd post it here for some discussion. There does appear to be some unexplained events that led up to the assault, which by no means makes it anyway justifiable... Road rage leads to assault charges Last Updated: Thursday, November 13, 2008 | 10:08 AM AT Comments19Recommend9 CBC News Charlottetown police have charged a man with assault causing bodily harm after an apparent case of road rage. '[He] was smashed in the face pretty badly.'— Wayd McNally Allison McNally, 59, was driving along Highway 2 in East Royalty, north of Charlottetown on Monday night. Family members say he felt a car behind him was driving strangely. He pulled over and the other car did too, and he left his vehicle in an attempt to speak to the driver. Wayd McNally told CBC News on Wednesday that his father was trying to get the attention of the woman driving the car when he was confronted by men who were riding in the car as passengers. "He tapped on the window, without any response, and from what I understand at that point may have actually reached to open the door to say something," said McNally. "At that point he was approached by the three men that were in the car, and trying to kind of back away from the situation he was attacked … and was smashed in the face pretty badly." The confrontation left McNally with facial injuries requiring treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
