According to David Carver, he had them all lined up to play on PEI last year. First he tried to get the Eagles on Canada Day weekend, but the province wouldn't support that. Then he had Van Halen lined up, again, no support. Finally he had Bruce Springsteen willing to play here, but once again, he got the kybash from the government. I wasn't in support of a concert on Canada Day weekend last year, but if any of these concerts could have happened I think the government should have offered at least some support. They put $300,000 into Alanis and the expectations for that concert never exceeded 10,000 people. Any of these acts would have easily drawn more than 10,000. Carver said he is going to put forth a proposal for a concert next summer. Hopefully the government will offer some support for it. Carver doesn't expect they will though.
